Nutley Educational Foundation 7 th Annual Backpack Program

NEF in partnership with Nutley Family Service Bureau will again run our "We've Got Your Back" initiative.

Thanks to the generosity of 2022 donors, we currently have 50+ backpacks ready for distribution to qualifying NFSB students.

Since 2017 NEF has provided over 300 new, quality backpacks with supplies plus gift cards to NFSB student clients. We are calling out to all donors to help strengthen our reach for 2023. Our goal for 2023 will be the same as 2022, $4,000.

Please consider sending a monetary gift to Nutley Educational Foundation (NEF), P.O. Box 735, Nutley, NJ 07110 or donating on line at so we may purchase additional backpacks and specific supplies for each grade level.

Deadline for donations is August 31, 2023.

Formed in 2003, NEF is a 501(c) (3), not for profit organization established solely to provide funding to support educational endeavors in the Township of Nutley.

Since a reorganization in 2015, NEF has supported more than $85,000 in educational projects benefiting the Nutley school district and community.

Founded in 2003, NEF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to provide funding to support educational endeavors in Nutley NJ School District. To date, the fund has received grants, funds and donations to support educational enrichment, capital improvements, operational expenses, security hardware, technology in the classroom and many other educational enhancements that would not have been possible without these additional sources of funding.

Mission Statement

To obtain and utilize alternative sources of funding for the Nutley Public School District, including facilities upgrading, curriculum development, instructional and professional development projects for the benefit of the Nutley Public School community and the Township of Nutley community.

How We Help

We help by seeking out grants and donations from corporations, small business and organizations committed to preserving quality public education. We also work with the school district and Nutley community to fund programs that will prepare our students for an evolving workforce with an increased focus on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). We support and fund opportunities for professional development, technology education and innovative teaching strategies in our classrooms and community. We maintain a strong community presence to highlight the work of the foundation and our donors’ commitment to the community. We also serve as an advocate for the Nutley Public School District and community.
